2012 Southeast Regional Conference AAC
Events
The 2012 ACF Southeast Regional Conference was a gigantic success!
Southeast Regional Vice President Jeff Bacon, CEC, CCA, AAC, and the ACF
Triad Chapter NC did an outstanding job organizing and hosting the
event. Camaraderie was great, the food magnificent, and the educational
offerings were phenomenal.

A warm and heartfeld “thank you” to Executive Chef
Jonathan M. Elwell, CEC, and his staff at the Old Town Club for hosting
an extraordinary American Academy of Chefs dinner. It was an
unforgettable night of exceptional Gastronomique fare that was enjoyed
by a hundred guests in attendance. A very special thanks to Chef Alan
Romano, CEC, AAC, who added his own “special touch” to the
event by providing an array of ice sculptures adorning the entire
experience. This will definitely be one of those AAC dinners talked
about for years to come!
The first AAC education demonstration, “The Art of
Desserts,” presented by Kimberly Brock-Brown, CEPC, CCA, AAC,
along with her two student culinarians, Danita G. Carpentier and Jinene
Foye Howard, was a huge triumph with standing room only! Every attendee
saw Chef Kimberly execute from the very beginnings to the final dessert
plate presentations. Best of all, they were able to taste those luscious
morsels! Thank you, Chef Kimberly, for coming forward and living our AAC
mission statement.
Lastly, the AAC is proud to once again support our culinary teams
with grants to assist with travel expenses to the regional conferences.
This year’s Southeast team receiving the grant went to Sea Island,
Sea Island Ga.; ACF Golden Isles of Georgia Chapter; Coach Daniel Zeal.
In addition, as the champions for the region, the AAC will also award
the team a $1,000 grant for travel expenses to national convention.
