Meet the Conference Culinary Team

Southeast Regional Conference Culinary
Team

The spirit of the “TCQ” (Twin City Quarter) Culinary team is strength in character, rather than numbers, and positive attitudes accomplishing the task at hand through hard work, equal respect and empowerment of the individual to boost the effectiveness of the whole team. In these trying economic times, we have survived while other hotels have closed around us, not with high tech equipment, fancy software, or even many of the “basics” that are found in the competition hotels, but rather by the strength of our team to work together and get the job done, whatever it takes.

At the helm of the Culinary team is North Carolina native, Executive Chef Christian C. Froelich. A summa cum laude graduate of Johnson and Wales with over twenty years of culinary experience in stand-alone and fine dining restaurants including Noble’s Grille in High Point, Winston-Salem and Charlotte, N.C.; Sonoma Restaurants and Del Frisco’s in Charlotte, N.C.; as well as hotels including Ritz Carlton Buckhead, Marriott, Embassy Suites and the Benton Convention Center. Froelich specializes in classic European techniques with local, fresh ingredients.

The TCQ Culinary team is comprised of thirty-five team members including Banquet Chef Michael Durgerian. Durgerian has over twenty-five years of culinary experience in convention centers, universities and sporting arenas including a major league baseball team throughout Florida, North Carolina and Washington. The complex also boasts seven culinary supervisors and three stewarding supervisors with immense experience and talent to smoothly execute events in 170,000 square feet of event space as well as two restaurants, two lounges and room service in both hotels.
